Knox Broach grew up just east of downtown Memphis in a house with 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Tennessee being his fathers college, he was destined to go to Knoxville. With him not having to worry about a cleaning service he was in for a big surprise moving into four years of student living.
Year 1
On Knox’s first day at Tennessee, his day was filled with moving into his dorm and being in attendance for day one of fraternity rush, and within his first night, he was shocked by the filth he realized he would endure during his year in Carrick student living dorms. With flooded showers, mold in the ac and living with 4 people, he missed being home in his clean house.
Year 2
After a year in the dorms, he moved into the fraternity house where the problems only got worse. Knox contended with roaches, dust, 30-year-old bathrooms that barely received cleaning, and showers with mold all over the walls. After enduring a challenging two years of what he had anticipated as the best time of his life, he found himself driven crazy by the filth of his living environment and aggravated by his friends who made it even worse. With no affordable cleaning services, he was constantly cleaning.
Year 3
During Knox’s junior year, he and nine of his best friends decided to move into a house in the student living neighborhood. While he was familiar with the idea of sharing a house with so many guys, this move introduced him to a whole new level of filth. When he tried to cook a pizza, he accidentally started a small fire due to the grease buildup at the bottom of the oven. They consistently neglected trash removal, dish cleaning, and allowed the refrigerator to fill up with spoiled food and grime.
Tennessee vs Alabama
As junior year came to its halfway mark, Knox and his friends lives changed. Waking up at 8am, they cooked breakfast and got ready to go to the game. The Tennessee Volunteers were facing Alabama at home and it was the best season Tennessee has ever had. After a 5 hour very close game, the Tennessee kicker booted a ball 40 yards to win the game. It was the best Saturday in Knoxville and Tennessee’s campus erupted with rowdy fans, “who carried the field goal onto the strip of the college’s campus”, said Fox News.
On the walk home from the game, Knox noticed Knoxville had never looked like this. Hundreds of people and cars flooded the streets with trash at every step. Students were setting couches on fire in their yards and parties took up blocks across the neighborhood. Knox’s friend Tyler turned to him and said, “Who is going to be the one to clean all this up?”.
As Knox and his friends settled in for the night, cleaning was not an option. Their house was in shambles with a bottle thrown through the window, with the floors littered with trash. When Knox woke up that next morning there was a brochure on the door. It read, “College Cleaners: a cleaning service dedicated to improving student living”, leaving Knox mind-blown. “Where has this cleaning service been all this time!”, said Knox.
Immediately Knox went to the website labeled at the bottom of the brochure, https://collegecleaningcrew.bizlaunchuniversity.com/, and scheduled himself a time for that Sunday and it only costed his roommates $10 a person!
